Sites worth visiting around The Ebro Delta

Ebro delta south:

The 7 kilometre-long Punta de la Banya spit, which divides the Alfacs bay on one side and the Mediterranean sea on the other, and which offers views of the salt mountains of the Sant Antoni saltpans.

Casa Verda shop on the edge of l'Encanyissada lagoon to buy ecological rice, posters, books etc.

The hide overlooking La Tancada lagoon in the last evening light with its hundreds of Greater Flamingoes.

Sant Carles de la Ràpita fishing port when fishing the boats enter in the afternoon followed by hundreds of gulls, including large numbers of Audouin's Gulls.

Riet Vell site between els Muntells and the Eucaliptus resort. Visit the excellent Swarovsky hide and see how ecological rice is produced. Buy a packet or two too!

Ebro Delta North:

The Fangar spit and lighthouse. Cross a large expanse of sand, which is an important nesting area for terns, to get to the Fangar lighthouse. Enjoy the sea air.

Take a boat trip from Deltebre down the river Ebro to its mouth near lo Garxal.

Visit the mussel beds in the Fangar bay on an arranged visit. Taste the mussels along with a glass of champagne.

Eat out in a local restaurant which serves the typical seafood and rice dishes of the Ebro delta: arròs negre (black rice), fideuà, paella, mussels, shellfish and fresh fish.

Go to the ecomuseum in Deltebre. Look at the exhibits, get a map and information, buy park-related products or contract a guide.
